This is great video and so helpful, i recently bought this mic. Question if i use the 80hz high pass roll off do i still need to EQ roll off too.
Recently bought this mic, so your video was very helpful. Question, if i use the 80hz high pass, do i still need to high pass EQ also. Thanks
Fantastic! Thanks for this-Extremely well explained! Bravo
I'm torn between the XLS and the XLII for drum overheads. Please, share your opinions!
That was fascinating
What kind of recording software is being used here?
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the way to demonstrated the different patterns visually as you stepped around the mic. I had no idea how to make sense of polar patterns (another new term I learned today) up until today because I was shopping around for a new headset/mic combo for streaming. (Before y'all say it, this is just one step. I'm ultimately buying a better headset and standalone mic a few months after this one.) I had no idea what directions the graph was showing me for the headset and it almost made me think it picked up in a totally incorrect direction. Thank you for this awesome video!
I wonder what the purpose of each design was for
Great educational video. Thank you very much!
Are sure of your drawing for the cardioïd ? Why there is no indicator on these cardioïd mics ,only the capsule and it works all around for me.
This is prolly the most concise video on frameless panels. Noe sure no air gap, but thats not always nesscerray for everyone. Yes the panels perform down to lower frequencies with an air gap but thats not always 100% nesscerray. Also the edge hardner... yeah use more than recommended. Alot more. 2 days to dry. But yes the edge hardness will depend on how heavy ya applicationof it.

This is gold!
very precise
Amazing bro
So basically if your just going to sing into the mic, go with the AKG C214 since they both share the same capsules.
Is available?
which one is best for vocals?
PDF link doesn't work anymore :/
Thank you
This video was a huge help. I just renovated an old building into a maker space and art studios and badly needed some acoustic treatment for the class room, kitchen, and shared studio. This made OC 307 panels a cost-effective solution. One bit of advice: a quart of the epoxy edge hardener will _just_ do six panels, so first do the corners generously, then skimp on the edges. Finish with touching up the edges with the remainder. I bought everything from here: www.buyinsulationproductstore.com/acoustical-insulation/
You went up there and didn't even use the crashes/ride haha😢😢😢😢
maybe there is something wrong with my JBL 104 reference monitor speakers that I did not differentiate the vocal sound between the untreated and the treated room. But I do notice on other videos...
I've been looking at a few videos like yours and you guys make all the same mistake. You are all using some FIBERGLASS insolation product and this can release particles in the air that you can breathe in since you DO NOT COVER the back of the panel. For health issue, i strongly recommend covering ALL the panel with cloth. When manipulating any Fiberglass product, always wear a mask.
I am wondering if you could recommend any microphone that is sensitive and can connect to iPad for voice typing, please?
Good to see my shed outside has the right insulation.
This is still the best demonstration of polar patterns I've come across!
Very helpful, thanks.
why did you guys stop??
Hi, what did you use to treat the floor ? I imagine, there was a concrete floor before treatment...
A good and insightful demo!
Amazing video! Thanks 🙏
Thank u man for this video.
Love the visuals of the directionality!!!
Did you remember to offset the spacing on the parallel wall?
I wonder how the room mics sound
U deserve more subscribers sir, thank you for this knowledge bomb
Funny how your before-sound, sounds better than a lot of professional youtuber's after-sound. 🙂
Who has the fiber boards in stock? every place i go its special order only, you have to order a minimum of 6 cases. Its getting pretty frustrating.
Thank you for this fantastic video! Your art of narrating this complex information along with the graphics overlay is phenomenal!
